There are lightning rods that are installed on each barrel, and these are in the way of installing the panels as the panels need to slide one way and then the other to connect to the valley sections. This means we need to make provisions for the rod. There is also a nut that holds the rod to its base plate, so we spin a connector that will cover the hole we cut to fit the panel and also accommodate the nut on the rod. Once installed it is soldered into place.
